Knee Joint pain strengthening exercise

The causes of knee joint pain are mainly divided into five categories:

Sports Injury

If the knee joint injury with a strong impact during exercise and causes ligament injury or ligament tear, the knee joint will have pain, redness and swelling, and even unable to move the knee cap, and feel very painful when walking.

The pain caused by mild knee injury or contusion is not a big problem as long as it is treated probably and a few weeks of rest, pain and swelling will be subside. The chiropractor will use ice, electrotherapy and ultrasound to reduce the pain of the patient’s affected area, eliminate swelling and reduce inflammation. If a ligament tear or fracture occurs, surgery must be done immediately to repair it.

Knee Joint Degeneration

Because the knee joint bears great pressure on the body, it is easy to degenerate. Especially people who are too obese are more likely to experience knee degeneration. Generally, patients feel severe pain in the middle or both sides of their knees every time they walk up and down the stairs. They are very strenuous when walking. After a long time, they will have pain even when walking on flat roads or even sleeping at night.

In fact, when you get older, there will be degeneration, so taking high calcium food can reduce the early bone degeneration.

In terms of treatment, if the patient condition is severe, or with age 60 years of age or older, the chiropractor can only do treatment to help relieve the pain, but cannot change or improve the degeneration.

Meniscus Injury

For example, knee pain occurs in young people, and the knee pain is only on one side of the foot (right or left), and there is no evidence of knee degeneration from the X-ray. This is most likely due to the displacement  of the meniscus towards one side, so that the knee joint pressure on that side increases and causes knee pain. The chiropractor will correct the meniscus displacement and perform other alternative treatments to eliminate the knee problem.

In fact, meniscus is caused by incorrect posture, meniscus strain, women after childbirth, and fall injuries can all cause mensicus problems.

Flat feet

Flat feet refer to the reduced curvature of the foot bridge (arch) at the bottom of the foot. When walking, the angles of the feet and knees cannot be align, which increases the load on the knee joints, causing inflammation or putting lot of pressure on the ligaments and causing pain. Patients with flat feet can customize an insole that is made according to the shape of the foot to support the arch of the foot, so that the angle of the foot and the knee is coordinated and balanced. Many foot problems (such as flat feet, knee joint pain, foot pain, plantar fasciitis, foot deformities, etc.) are treated by choosing suitable and good shoes and insoles. The main function of the insole is to support the foot and absorb shocks. By changing the force of standing and walking, it can improve the balance of the foot and reduce the pressure on the affected area of the foot or cartilage tissue.

Other Causes

Other causes include diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and other types of arthritis.

As long as we can find out the cause of knee pain and cooperate with treatment, the knee pain can be eliminated.
